Farmers are not pocketing money

For many months now we’ve seen small paragraphs in the business section on how world food prices have fallen. Really? Ask any South African and they will tell you “not in SA!”.

So who is fooling whom? In my experience it’s the middle men that make all the money, certainly not the farmer!

Don’t expect fruit and vegetables prices to fall during their “season”.

There will always be an excuse – no rain, too much rain, late frost or petrol price increase. We are being ripped off. Who these days can afford to eat “healthy”? Frank, Meyerton
