Dyantyi never really managed to make a big impact on the game, but then it was clear the All Blacks’ defence was set on denying him any opportunity. Made a couple of errors under the high ball, but his threat was enough to create space for others. Rating: 6/10

The contest between De Allende and Sonny Bill Williams in the No 12 jerseys was never going to be a game of chess, but rather one of brute force. De Allende proved a muscular presence in midfield but he also showed he has the brains to go with the brawn . Rating: 8/10

The midfield battle was one of the major wars of attrition in this gripping Test and Kriel brought plenty of pace and power to dominate opposite number Ryan Crotty. His brilliant strike early in the second half set up a dazzling third quarter for the Springboks.
