Star players: born in Zimbabwe, made in SA
Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Knowledge Musona (right) netted the winner for Zimbabwe this weekend as they picked up a stunning 2-1 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying win in Kinshasa against DR Congo. Musona capitalised on a howler from the DRC goalkeeper to net the winner while Bloemfontein Celtic’s Ronald Pfumbidzai scored the opening goal for the Warriors. Polokwane City’s George Chigova, Kaizer Chiefs’ Teenage Hadebe and Khama Billiat, and Knox Mutizwa of Golden Arrows were all also in the Zimbabwe side. Zimbabwe are now in a great position to qualify for Afcon 2019, and take on DR Congo at home today.
