Rarities, art and some fine pieces of jewellery will be auctioned off tomorrow.

SA art, collectabl­es and Jewellery will go under the hammer tomorrow from 10am at 65 Thomson St, Colbyn, Pretoria. The first session will feature rare Cape silver pieces, with the highlight a snuffbox made by the renowned Cape silversmit­h Johannes Combrink. Also up for grabs are Georgian Old English table silver; a Victorian silver-mount fish-eater set by Mappin, Webb & Co, presentati­on trophies and sterling silver pillboxes retailed by Ari D Norman. One lot of particular interest is an American three-piece sterling silver repoussé Rose pattern tea set by Samuel Kirk & Son of Baltimore.

Royal Copenhagen hand-painted Botanical Flora Danica rack plates, a scarce Wilkinson Clarice Cliff Original Bizarre Pyramids 6-piece sandwich set and two Farmhouse pattern wall plates are sure to pique interest. Bidders will also be able to acquire curiositie­s ranging from a late 19th century Scottish ship’s starboard lantern; a compact Cameraphon­e gramophone turntable, Rajasthani painted miniatures; antiquaria­n maps and architectu­ral reference books by the likes of Frank Lloyd Wright. The furniture follow with a Dollif Rollifson Georgian oakwood longcase clock, a Victorian pale mahogany library secretairé bookcase; a pair of Napoleon III-style figural lamps and a Gaudez bronze of Actéon. Highlights of the Cape and Transvaal furniture include an Anglo-Cape yellowwood Coniston House linen press.
