Politicians don’t have a patch on Pik

I fully agree with the sentiments of Rose Chinery (The Citizen, October 17) in which she describes Pik Botha the man.

And what’s more, he was the one who advocated political change – even predicting that South Africa would have a black president.

He was chastised by PW Botha and fellow Nats for his stance.

Ms Chinery is quite right, most present day politicians haven’t a patch on Pik. Henry CB, George
