Remembering Johnny Hallyday

-

Johnny Hallyday’s most loyal fans were the first to yesterday jump on the posthumous album of their idol, My Country is Love, at the exceptional implementation of 800 000 records.

Approximately 200 of them came to buy the precious album in the three editions available (single CD, limited edition collector’s CD with booklet, and vinyl) in the Fnac of the Champs-Elysées in Paris, especially open for the occasion.

The sign was counting on “500 customers in the end”.

At one minute past midnight, the order service of Fnac allowed 20 customers to enter the store.

Every 10 minutes, it was the turn of 30 additional people to be “liberated”.

For some of them, in tears, the moment was all the stronger as the last time they had an appointment with Johnny was December 9, 2017, the day when he was paid a popular homage by hundreds of thousands of admirers on the Champs.

“I loved Johnny. I was on the Champs in December, it was important to go back there,” said Edith, 50. –
