Gauteng health needs new MEC

The Gauteng health department is in tatters because of poor administration by the MEC of health, Gwen Ramokgopa.

It’s a shock that many posts have not been filled, yet there are many qualified doctors and nurses who are unemployed and looking for a job.

What is even more puzzling is that those job vacancies are not advertised but are privatised for a selected few.

Gauteng Premier David Makhura must step in by appointing a competent MEC or else the health system in the province is going down the drain. Simphiwe
