Transnet fires CEO amid probe

Transnet’s board has dismissed CEO Siyabonga Gama after losing confidence in his ability to lead the state-owned ports and rail company.

The board notified him of its decision to terminate his employment on Sunday. Board chairperson Popo Molefe said the decision stemmed mostly from Gama’s actions related to a contract for new locomotives. – Bloomberg
