Transnet fires CEO amid probe

Transnet’s board has dismissed CEO Siyabonga Gama after losing confidence in his ability to lead the state-owned ports and rail company.

The board notified him of its decision to terminate his employment on Sunday. Board chairperso­n Popo Molefe said the decision stemmed mostly from Gama’s actions related to a contract for new locomotive­s. – Bloomberg
