Omotoso trial a deterrent to victims

At long last I have realised why women who are raped do not wish to testify in court.

Having watched Cheryl Zondi give evidence in the Omotoso trial, and allowing the matter to be shown on television, I now realise that the witnesses are exposed to a horrifying revisit to the events which caused them so much trauma.

The total indifference shown to Zondi by the defence attorney will, I have no doubt, cause even more females to fail to report rape to the SA Police Service.
