The Citizen (Gauteng)

If things can go wrong, they will

-

The Play That Goes Wrong is back at the Pieter Toerien Montecasino Theatre for its final visit. If you didn’t see it during its first two stagings – don’t miss the funniest play you’ll see this year.

The piece is a celebration of the best of live theatre – and the worst. The Northriding Polytechnic Drama Society is putting on a 1920s murder mystery, but as the title suggests, everything that can go wrong does.

The accident-prone thespians battle against all odds just to make it through to their final curtain call, with hilarious consequences.

It has been described by theatre audiences as Fawlty Towers meets Noises Off and this hit comedy has won every major award on the London stage.

The South African production, directed by Alan Committie, took the box office by storm when it debuted last year.

The return season features the awesome original cast including Russel Savadier, Sive Gubanxa, Craig Jackson and Nicole Franco. – Citizen reporter
