Alonso sticks with Chelsea

– Defender Marcos Alonso has signed a new contract with Chelsea that will run until 2023.

The 27-year-old Spaniard, who joined Chelsea in August 2016, helped them win the Premier League in 201617 and claim the FA Cup last season.

“I am so happy to stay ... to keep playing for one of the best teams in the world,” he said on the club’s website yesterday. “It’s been a good two seasons and I am looking forward to more.” –
