Greece quake felt in Libya
– A powerful quake of magnitude at least 6.4 struck off western Greece early yesterday, earthquake monitors said, causing slight damage but no casualties in a tremor felt as far away as Libya.
Greece’s Geodynamic Institute reported the magnitude as 6.4 and put the quake 50km south of Zakynthos island.
That compares with a figure of 6.8 from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre.
The tremor was felt in Albania, Italy, Libya and Malta.
