Vehicle licence fees are extortion

Last year, the road tax for my car, was R528. This year, I have just paid R636 for the same vehicle.

This equates to an increase of 20.5 %. How is this possible when inflation is running at approximately 6%?

If government was doing a decent job of what they are employed to do, I wouldn’t mind, but this amounts to extortion. Roger
