Coloureds, Indians are ignored in society

As far as political parties go, we are only good for votes, writes Imraan Abrahams.

We are living in exciting times in terms of our political landscape. All of the three major political parties – ANC, DA and EFF – are involved in wrongdoing within their organisations.

We must not lose sight of the fact that we were all forced to vote in 1994 for a new democracy.

At that time, we had no choice but to vote for the ANC due to Nelson Mandela. He fought for inclusion of all people. His philosophy was right. We must also note that the ANC was a predominantly black party.

Coloureds and Indians are from the previously disadvantaged groups but we have been excluded. When it comes to voting, coloureds and Indians are good for votes.

Just count and see how many coloureds and Indians are in the ANC. They have taken us for suckers. The DA is a party based on Nationalist ideology – don’t be fooled by the democratic alliance nature they put forward.

If we look around us, it is only blacks who are advancing to these senior positions in society, some without the proper know-how.

We coloured and Indian people are a forgotten group in society.

Scholastically, the coloured and Indian matric results are better that the blacks, but opportunities are more in their favour.

Corruption has become a ticket in our society to either keep your job or to acquire one. In an abnormal society as we are living in, nothing is normal.

Racial tension within our society is the cause of this inequity, which is causing hatred.

The Zuma administration was a disaster causing major problems.
