Court orders Keiko’s detention

Lima – A judge on Wednesday ordered Peru’s opposition leader, Keiko Fujimori, 43, returned to jail pending a trial over claims she used her conservative party to launder money for Brazilian company Odebrecht .

The daughter of a former president, Alberto Fujimori, and a twice-defeated presidential candidate Keiko has repeatedly denied wrongdoing and described the prosecution’s efforts to imprison her as “political persecution.”
