Joshua a big test for Zulu

- Clinton Jones

Undisputed Extreme Fighting Championship (EFC) flyweight champion Nkazimulo Zulu (above) puts his title on the line at the Grand West Arena in Cape Town tonight.

Standing in his way is a new threat in the shape of undefeated challenger Gary Joshua, who will have the weight of a raucous Cape Town crowd behind him.

Undisputed and undefeated as a flyweight, Zulu has produced some of the most devastating highlight finishes, sending many of his opponents to hospital for damage inflicted.

Joshua could possibly be the most dangerous athlete Zulu has ever faced. Undefeated as a professional, he holds a 75% finish rate and has picked up multiple performance bonuses.

The co-main event will see South Africa’s Luthando Biko collide with Cal Ellenor for the interim bantamweight championship.

Meanwhile, it was revealed that former EFC middleweight champion Gareth McLellan and season one Brendan Lesar would feature as rival coaches for the second season of The Fighter with the two ultimately facing each other for the interim middleweight title in the finale. It was also confirmed that the show’s contestants will be made up of ten female flyweights from around the world with filming starting in January 2019.
