Hunt’s Wits eye league summit

-

Bidvest Wits go in search of a fifth win in six matches in all competitions as they welcome Bloemfontein Celtic to Milpark this evening.

The Clever Boys could regain top spot in the Absa Premiership with a win, depending on what happens between title rivals Mamelodi Sundowns and league leaders Orlando Pirates. In any case, the Clever Boys are just two points behind Bucs, with two games in hand.

Interestingly Wits have been better on the road this season than at home – Gavin Hunt’s side are unbeaten away in all competitions, winning five and drawing two of their matches. At home, they have stumbled to unlikely defeats against SuperSport United and Polokwane City, though they have won their other three matches at Bidvest Stadium.

Celtic have faded after an incredible start to the season - Steve Komphela’s side did, however, break a four-game drought when they beat Baroka FC 1-0 on October 28. – Jonty Mark
