In a physical contest, Whiteley was not at his best, which resulted in him being replaced in the 49th minute. In his time on the field he played his part on defence but struggled to stamp his authority at the collisions. Rating: 5/10

In challenging, wet underfoot conditions De Klerk’s box-kicking wasn’t as accurate as he would have liked and late in the game he executed a late and high charge on opposite flyhalf Camille Lopez which cost his side a valuable three points.
