Clubs oppose FA limit on players

-

– The Football Association’s plan to cap the number of overseas stars at Premier League clubs has been opposed by West Ham United and Watford.

The FA has proposed reducing the number of foreign players in each Premier League squad to 12 from 17 after Britain leaves the European Union in an attempt to boost the number of homegrown players.

If it goes through, 12 of the 20 clubs will have to reduce their number of overseas players, but the FA says this will not result in a net fall in the total number of overseas players in the league. – Reuters
