Manyonga not in the IAAF picture

There was no luck for long jumper Luvo Manyonga yesterday after he was omitted from the list of finalists for the IAAF Male World Athlete of the Year award.

Manyonga was one of 10 nominees announced last month for the prestigious accolade, after winning gold at the Commonwealth Games and securing silver at the African Championships.

The list of finalists featured US sprinter Christian Coleman, Swedish polevault prodigy Armand Duplantis, Kenyan marathon star Eliud Kipchoge, French decathlete Kevin Mayer and Qatari hurdler Abderrahman Samba. – Wesley Botton
