Sao Paulo giants Palmeiras can seal their second Brazilian Serie A title in three seasons today at the Allianz Parque, as they take on relegation-threatened America Mineiro.

Luis Felipe Scolari’s side will be confirmed as champions if they beat America and second-placed Flamengo fail to win at home to Gremio. Palmeiras hold a fivepoint lead over Flamengo at the top of the table, with just three games left.

Scolari’s side have an impressive home record this season, winning 14 of 17 league matches, drawing two and losing just one. America, by contrast, have one of the worst away records in the league, winning just two of 17 Serie A games.

Scolari is in his third spell at Palmeiras, having previously coached them between 1998 and 2000, as well as from 2010-2012. The former Brazil, Portugal and Chelsea head coach is looking for his first Serie A title with Palmeiras, though he did win the title with Gremio back in 1996.
