Chaka Chaka to be honoured

Legendary international performer and humanitarian Yvonne Chaka Chaka, pictured, is humbled by the decision to honour her in Ghana during the fi fth All Africa Music Awards (Afrima) later this month.

The event, organised by the African Union, African Union Commission and the International Committee of All African Music Awards, in partnership with Ghana’s ministry of tourism, arts and culture, will recognise the role the “Pricess of Africa” played for more than 30 years.

Chaka Chaka was also nominated as a moderator of today’s Afrima Business Summit.

The summit will discuss African music in a global village and will be attended by music professionals, executives and artists.

Chaka Chaka has perfomed on international stages for dignitaries such as England’s Queen Elizabeth II, Nelson Mandela and Barack Obama. – Citizen reporter
