Soqrat out of Dingaans, PE horse at 12-10
Soqrat, hot favourite for the Grade 2 Dingaans at Turffontein on Saturday, has been scratched from the race.
The Mike de Kock stable withdrew the Australian import early on Wednesday due to “elevated temperature”.
The new favourite for the prestigious 1600m three-year-old race – at 12-10 – is National Park, a Port Elizabeth raider from the Yvette Bremner yard.
Soqrat, a three-time winner owned by Sheikh Hamdan, was at 14-10 – with National Park on offer at 18-10.
De Kock still has two runners in the Dingaans, Race 8 on Saturday's card, in the form of Hawwaam and Atyaab – both also owned by the sheikh and quoted at 11-2 and 15-2 respectively.
