Cyril let SA down, and we’ll pay price
South Africa had the luxury of a statesman for a short time. Since the Nelson Mandela era there hasn’t been a leader in the same mould. Thabo Mbeki came short, and Jacob Zuma was a total washout – sending the country down the tubes.
Then came Cyril Ramaphosa, pictured, and a nation held its breath, hoping the promise of a new dawn had arrived at last.
But alas, statesmanship has been nowhere in sight. The president’s latest lark, called a “Cabinet reshuffle”, put paid to any promise of saving SA from an incompetent and corrupt ANC.
