Pair arrested for kidnapping, rape

Limpopo police have arrested two people in connection with the abduction and alleged rape of a Lephalale school teacher.

The suspects were also linked to various violent and serious crimes in Limpopo.

Police spokesperson in Limpopo, Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe, said the suspects were followed from Friday morning and arrested in outside Lephalale.

“During the arrest, one of the suspects was found in possession of the ignition keys of the victim’s car. A few minutes later, the victim’s car was found abondoned in bushes near Marken,” said Ngoepe yesterday.

Cases of housebreaking with intent to commit crime, kidnapping, armed robbery and rape have been opened against the suspects.
