US targets top Nicaraguans

– US President Donald Trump on Tuesday sanctioned Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega’s wife and one of his aides under a new executive order allowing Washington to target Nicaraguan officials for a crackdown on protests.

The US Treasury has also used the order to punish Nicaraguan Vice-President Rosario Murillo, his wife and aide Nestor Moncada Lau. Any property owned by Murillo and Moncada Lau under US jurisdiction will be frozen. – Reuters
