The number of horses who scored a Summer Cup hat-trick. Java achieved this remarkable feat in 1956-58, trained by Jack Butler. Elevation repeated the unimaginable almost 20 years later. Trained by George Azzie, the chestnut landed his first victory in 1972, when the race was run as the Holiday Inns. He went on to win again in 1973 and under a big weight in 1974.
