Blitzboks look for three titles in a row

The South African Sevens team have opened the defence of their Sevens Series title in Dubai. The Blitzboks won the 2017-18 series by just two points over Fiji after winning the final leg in Paris. South Africa, who also won the 2008-09 and 2016-17 titles, have finished overall runners-up on seven occasions. The Blitzboks have won the trophy in Dubai six times, including the last two years. Following Dubai, they play in Cape Town next weekend and then Hamilton, Sydney, Las Vegas, Vancouver, Hong Kong, Singapore, London and Paris.
