Oprah no idea what people endure

Oprah Winfrey, pictured, urges South Africans to never give up and find a way. Easy to say. I am sure she has absolutely no idea as to what we as SA citizens have to deal with.

Our power utility company is in tatters, it has no idea on how to run an efficient and stable grid.

Our national carrier has insurmountable debt and requests regular bailouts from government.

Our once solid Sars has been corrupted beyond belief. Transnet and most municipalities are in the same position and the effective supply of essential services are a thing of the past.

Human waste and other garbage flows through the streets of some settlements and into our underground water systems and rivers, polluting everything it touches. It’s disgusting.

All of this can be blamed squarely on corruption and nepotism, but not a single minister or politician will accept accountability for this.

It is always the fault of a third party, they sidetrack everything, the favourite phrase used by them is, “we have a challenge”. Garry, Montana Park
