Petrolhead­s set for Ultimate spectacle

The Ultimate Raceway in Vereenigin­g will host a varied tar oval spectacle today, headed up by the final rounds of the 2018 National Hotrod Tour and Club Championsh­ip.

Heading up the programme will be races for Two-litre HotRods, with top drivers like Rudy Myburgh, Seef Fourie, Neil Botes, Jody Viana and Andries Du Preez, plus Jason and Neville Loosemore in action.

The category will boast an entry of more than 30 cars.

Other categories include V8 Sprint Cars, Two-litre Modified saloons, 1660cc Modified Saloons, Stock Rods and Ninja Midgets.

The circuit gates open from 10am, with practice sessions for all competitor­s during the day.

Racing proper will start at 5pm.

Admission will cost R80 per adult and R40 for children between the ages of six and 12 years.
