‘Safa hasn’t paid us’

Safa have been accused of not paying players who were representing the country in the indoor football tournament in Mauritius earlier this year. One of the players, who spoke to Phakaaathi, said they have been waiting for their payments since March. “What is puzzling is that some players were paid,” he said. “We don’t know what is delaying our payment and we have been sent from pillar to post when we ask about it. No one has an answer on whether we will be paid or when that will happen. We gave our time to represent the country but now this is what we find ourselves with,” he added.
