Gross spending up in third quarter

Real gross domestic expenditure expanded by 2.3% in the third quarter of 2018, after contracting by 0.7% in the second quarter, Statistics SA said.

Household expenditure increased by 1.6% in the third three months of the year after contracting by 1.1% in the previous three months. Government expenditure was up 2.2% after growing by 0.8% in the previous quarter. –
