A deal to suit Bafana, Banyana

The South African Football Association (Safa) announced yesterday they had signed a sponsorship deal with Turkish clothing brand D’S Damat to suit up both Bafana Bafana and Banyana Banyana for international trips.

The deal is the first of many Safa hopes to clinch for Banyana, who have qualified for the first time for the Fifa Women’s World Cup finals.

“Banyana’s success has turned the tide,” said Safa president Danny Jordaan. “We we are delighted the men and women will have an equal share [of the partnership with D’S Damat].”

Bafana will be wearing the suits when they travel to Tunisia in March for their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Libya.

Banyana will wear the label when they travel in June for the 2019 Fifa Women’s World Cup in France.
