The days of the Eskom ‘war room’
Remember when President Cyril Ramaphosa presided over the Eskom “war room”, and somehow managed to stop load shedding dead in its tracks?
So what happened? He knew the problems that existed, yet during his current presidency, the situation at Eskom has deteriorated to such an extent that the country is in peril of a total blackout. The war room must be resurrected immediately, and the president himself should manage the imploding situation.
This crisis has severe implications for the economy, and outside investors including the ratings agencies, who must be looking at South Africa with much scepticism.
Junk status, it seems, is imminent! Peter Bachtis
