V8 sprint cars headline proceedings at The Rock Raceway

The Rock Raceway in Brakpan will offer spectators a full programme of tar oval racing and drifting this evening, with their Rockmania Showdown event to host three separate competition disciplines and nine racing classes.

Topping events will be races for V8 Sprint Cars, with about a dozen of the hugely winged, massively tyred, 500 kW monster vehicles set to blast around the 400-metre oval.

There will also be races for 1660cc Saloon Cars, 1600cc Stock Rods, Super Saloon Cars, Midgets, 125cc Karts, and Ninja Karts.

Using both the oval and extended outside track will be races for Formula N road cars, with a number of Drifting cars to round out the programme in tyre-shredding style. Dragsters will do exhibition runs on the venue’s 200-metre strip.
