Amajita skipper Khulekani Khubeka (above) has spoken about the importance of keeping clean sheets ahead of their tie with Swaziland in the Cosafa Under-20 Championship at Nkana Stadium today.

The Amajita shot-stopper didn’t let anything go past him during the team’s opening game in group B, where they smashed Mauritius 5-0.

Khubeka says the love and bond among players is what brings them together and helps them to know each other more. The key is that they understand how everyone plays which makes it simple for him to communicate with the rest of the players, especially the defenders.

“When we come into camp, we come in as different players from different clubs. So, the important thing is to make sure that we build a relationship and become brothers,” Khubeka explained.

“And during training sessions and sitting in the hotel we make sure that we communicate a lot and we build a bond of brotherhood. It works when we get on the field because once you’re brothers you will die for each other and you wouldn’t want to drop your brother.”

Khubeka says it is essential for the team to do well since they are preparing for the Under-20 Afcon where they will be looking to qualify for the World Cup.
