Untersee puts himself in Baxter’s sights

Joel Untersee (left) finally made his Serie A debut for Empoli this weekend, coming off the bench in their 2-1 win over Bologna. Untersee came on with the scores level at 1-1 before Antonio la Gumina’s winner secured Empoli’s win. Untersee was born in Johannesburg but moved to Switzerland when he was young, and has represented the Swiss national team at youth level. Bafana coach Stuart Baxter indicated that Untersee was willing to play for SA at senior level, though he has yet to be selected.
