Striker out in the cold

-

Shakes Mashaba is believed to be disappointed that he could not help former Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs striker, Bongani Ndulula (below) resurrect his footballing career as the 29-yearold failed a trial at Witbank Spurs. Sources have revealed that Mashaba invited Ndulula to Spurs to have a closer look at him and see if he could be of any help as the former Bafana coach has been tasked with rescuing Siyavutha from relegation in the National First Division. “Ndulula is not the same player Mashaba thought he was and he couldn’t make it so the trial was cut short as it was clear there was nothing he could offer the coach,” said a source. Ndulula is the national Under-23 team’s all-time top scorer and was a lethal striker under Mashaba’s guidance.

Pitso happy with three up front

Gaston Sirino (above), Themba Zwane and Lebohang Maboe are tipped to be the reincarnation of the famous “CBD” featuring Leonardo Castro, Khama Billiat and Keagan Dolly, who have all since left Mamelodi Sundowns. Pitso Mosimane has been looking to re-establish a lethal partnership as he has tried out several combinations. However, most have disappointed. “The coach looks content with the trio and that is why he plays them at the same time whenever he can. He wants to build the team around them because age is still on their side,” said an informant at the Brazilians’ camp.

Mkhonza in trouble financially

A source close to former Kaizer Chiefs defender Simphiwe Mkhonza (above) has revealed that the former defender is currently not in a good financial position and owes many of his friends money. According to the source, the defender has financial issues which have forced him to move into his girlfriend’s home. “It’s really difficult for him, I don’t really understand why he has all these money problems because he is working. What I have heard is that he is now living with his girlfriend in a back room. I hope he sorts out his problems because he owes a lot of guys money,” said the source.

Leopards freeze Nange out

Players at Black Leopards are not happy with the way the club is handling the situation regarding Phathutshedzo Nange (above), a source at the club has revealed. Nange used to be a regular before they found out he had signed a pre-contract with Bidvest Wits and he hasn’t been playing. “The guys are not happy with the way Phatu is being treated. The team is not even doing as well as they were in the last two months. The thing is, they are not happy he is leaving. The worst thing about it is that he signed without their knowledge,” said the source.
