Markram must go to World Cup

As a supporter of South African cricket for many years, and with the upcoming World Cup in mind, I am battling with the idea that it appears that we may be going to the tournament without our best batsman, Aiden Markram, pictured.

This time a year ago, he was the captain of the one-day international side and it appears now that he is not going to be given a chance to prove his worth. Not that he should need to.

Reeza Hendricks and Rassie van der Dussen have both done well but ignoring Markram’s talents for the ODI series against Pakistan astounds me.

Hopefully, he has been pencilled in for the World Cup. John Faulkner
