NUM warns ANC over Eskom plan

The National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) warned the ANC yesterday not to take its members’ votes for granted in the May elections, as it expressed anger at government’s plan to split Eskom.

NUM said it “barged into” the ANC’s headquarters after the announcement. Senior ANC officials assured NUM the plan wouldn’t lead to job losses or privatisation, NUM’s David Sipunzi said. – Reuters
