Union ready to fight job cuts

-

The United Association of SA (Uasa) will resist job cuts at Sibanye-Stillwater “tooth and nail”, the trade union said yesterday.

“A substantial number of Uasa members employed at mining company’s gold operations have received section 189 notices,” Uasa spokesperson Stanford Mazhindu said. “We will have to find a way to sugar-coat the bitter pill of possible retrenchment for our workers. We’ll resist the job cuts tooth and nail.” – ANA
