Unemployed in march on mine

Unemployed people at Ikemeleng in Kroondal near Rustenburg marched to the Kroondal Mine yesterday, demanding jobs.

In a memorandum, they appealed for the mine to halt operations at a dump site because they suspected the contractor who was awarded the tender was related to the councillor’s boyfriend.

They also called on the mine to no longer consult the councillor on employment issues. – ANA
