Regular football for Phiri but his side battle

Lebo Phiri (right) continues to start regularly for French Ligue 1 side Guingamp, but his team are in serious danger of relegation, five points adrift at the bottom of the table after a 2-1 loss at Lyon on Friday evening. The 24-yearold has made 17 appearances for Guingamp in all competitions this season, with seven of his 14 starts coming in 2019. Despite Guingamp’s current plight, Phiri will hope the fact he is playing regularly will be enough to attract Stuart Baxter’s attention when he selects his squad for next month’s 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Libya.
