Cops issue warning after child abducted in Kempton Park

-

Police in Ekurhuleni’s north cluster have warned residents to be on alert for incidents of child abduction.

Captain Manyadza Ralidzhivha, SA Police Service communications officer, confirmed that a 25-year-old woman’s baby was abducted in the Kempton Park area on the morning of February 27 while she was taking the 19-day-old infant to Tembisa Hospital for a check-up, reports Kempton Express.

“When she left the hospital, a white vehicle stopped next to her. There were two women and a man in the car,” said Ralidzhivha.

“The suspects asked her where she was going and she told them she was going to Winnie Mandela Zone Four.”

They then offered her a lift to her destination.

“The suspects drove with her and stopped at a spaza shop and bought some cold drinks. They drove with her until they left her at an unknown place before driving away with her child,” Ralidzhivha explained.

“She went to seek help. The woman met a security officer who took her to Mondeor Police Station in Johannesburg.

“The Mondeor police opened a case of abduction and immediately brought her to Tembisa Police Station,” said Ralidzhivha.

Anybody who may have information is requested to contact Detective Sergeant Jimmy Makhubele on 082-551-8741, or 08600-10111 or call 112. – Caxton News Service
