Greeff holds the aces in Fillies Nursery

- Viv Greybe

Champion trainer Alan Greeff has four contenders in Race 7 and top event at Fairview today – the East Cape Fillies Nursery (Listed) for two-year-old fillies over 1200m – and the likely one to lead the stable’s attack is Brandina with Greg Cheyne in the saddle.

This daughter of Capetown Noir was a decisive winner on debut over 800m at Fairview, which she followed up with a 0.25-length third with Cheyne aboard in the Juvenile Stakes (Listed) over 1000m at Kenilworth.

She justified cramped odds with a two-length win in a Juvenile contest for fillies over 1000m at Fairview.

And this classy two-time winner should follow up as she will clash with one-time winners and maidens at level weights.

She could be followed home by stable companion Mendocino.

Expect another stout effort from Tara Laing-trained Captain Anne Bonny with Chase Maujean up again.

With the experience gained in her last run when a runner-up in a 15-strong field she should be in the final call again.

Greeff-trained Edmonda (Teaque Gould) and Great Achievement (Wayne Agrella) – both onetime winners – make most appeal of the others.

Greeff and Cheyne look on target to claim honours in Race 1 when sending out Viking Moon in a 1000m Juvenile Plate.

The combination is unlikely to miss in Race 4 with the filly Ruby Two Shoes who takes on male opposition in a 1600m Maiden Plate.

And follow Greeff-trained Quakeshake n Race 5.

With a favourable inside draw she should complete the hat-trick. To take a bet Go to www.tabonline.co.za or www.bettingworld.co.za
