A source close to Oupa Manyisa (below) has revealed that the midfielder fears his career might be over following an injury he sustained during their 4-2 loss in the Shell Helix Cup to Kaizer Chiefs last Saturday. The source revealed that Manyisa is set to be on the sidelines for many months, something which was echoed by Downs head coach Pitso Mosimane during the post-match interview. He said he thinks Manyisa’s Achilles is gone and his season is over. “It’s not looking good for him, it seems like he is going to be out for a very long time. Just when things were starting to look promising for him he gets injured. He is really scared that he might not be the same player he is now when he comes back from this injury and his career might be gone. He is now 31 years old and by the time he makes his return he will be 32, he is really worried,” said the source. Tembo set for new club deal

SuperSport United are said to be working on renewing the contract of head coach Kaitano Tembo (above). Tembo, whose contract is up at the end of season, has done himself a huge favour by winning the MTN8 Cup and according to a source, management are looking to reward him with a new contract, believing he could still do a lot at the club. “I hear he will certainly be given a new contract. The bosses believe in him after winning the MTN8. The players respect him so much plus he has been there for a long time, that’s why it was easy for him to get things on the right track,” said the source. Coaches asked to bury hatchet

Phakaaathi understands that moves have been made between the parties representing Steve Komphela (above) and Luc Eymael to smoke the peace pipe, after the latter said Eymael should not come back to coach in South Africa. Eymael had a dig at Komphela after winning the Nedbank Cup with Free State Stars in 2017, a comment that clearly did not go down well with the Golden Arrows coach. The Belgian has since been hired by Black Leopards and it is believed that attempts have been made to calm the situation, with the two teams set to meet on November 30 in the Absa Premiership. Tema and Eymael reunite

Former Free State Stars defender Tshepo Tema (above) is trying his luck at Black Leopards. Tema left Stars at the end of last season and has been without a club since. A source told Phakaaathi that he had been trying to secure moves but to avail. “He is glad of the chance Leopards have given him and is doing well. He wants to impress. And he is lucky that the new coach (Luc Eymael) has just arrived . They know each other from their days at Stars so he has an understanding of what Eymael wants from his players. It is a big advantage for him,” said the source.
