Hello Kitty looks purrfect

- Ken Nicol

Punters will need to keep their powder dry at Greyville today, as the best two betting opportunities on the Polytrack present themselves in the final two races.

And the standout bet is Royal Kitty in Race 7, a Maiden Plate for fillies over 1600m.

This Alyson Wright-trained daughter of Duke Of Marmalade is no star, but has placed on the Polytrack in her last two races, and was a clear second to classy Dancing Feather last time when trying the distance.

And she meets a group of rivals who appear particularly limited on the ability front. Barring big improvement from one of the unexposed types this should be her day in the sun.

She makes plenty of appeal as a banker on a day with a number of tricky handicaps.

Then in Race 8 it’s Uncle Frank who should take the accolades in a MR 68 Handicap over the same trip.

This Gavin van Zyl-trained gelding won his maiden well over this course and distance, and then seemed to find 2000m too far next time out.

Then returning to this trip he was continually baulked in the straight but still managed fourth in a field far stronger than this MR 68 line up.

The only negative is a widish draw, but he has early toe and should be too classy for this lot.

A decent value bet in a wideopen affair is Fleek in Race 4, a FM 67 Handicap over 1200m. This mare is consistent on the Polytrack and with pole position draw she should have a big say in the finish. To take a bet Go to www.tabonline.co.za or www.bettingworld.co.za
