Andile dances to his own tune
Platform is niche site that will focus on documenting South African content.
South African entrepreneur Andile Mathobela has just launched a brand new video magazine titled TheJournalistDJ.com. The platform is a niche site that will focus on documenting dance culture in South Africa.
Mathobela is the co-founder and founding editor of one of the leading digital youth magazines in South Africa, Zkhiphani.com.
Just more than a year ago, Zkhiphani was acquired by M&N Brands, the holding company that owns Avatar Johannesburg, Avatar Cape Town, Avatar Media Agency, Avatar PR, Mela Events and Bozza.
TheJournalistDJ.com serves South Africans with the freshest and trendiest house music news platform.
The publication’s main purpose is to properly document the house music culture in South Africa.
It is the first video magazine that does not rely on text-based content.
House music is one of the biggest genres on the African continent but there is no platform that efficiently curates quality content for the movement.
Mathobela hopes that the platform will become a force to be reckoned with when it comes to dance music culture as it caters for everyone that loves Amapiano, Afro House, Gqom, Electro and Deep House.
“The future is video niche content. With this platform, I plan on properly documenting the amazing Mzansi dance culture,” says Andile Mathobela. Mathobela decided to sell his shares in Zkhiphani after successfully building the platform for over a 10 years as he saw that there are more opportunities in developing niche content hubs.
As a house DJ himself, he decided to start by introducing the country’s first video house magazine.
Mathobela plans on launching several more niche platforms over the next couple of months.
The platform is open to anyone who has access to a smartphone and is active on one or more social media pages.
It is worth checking out for someone who wants to always be in the know when it comes to South African music news. – Citizen reporter
