Recovery plan on EU agenda
Brussels – Hungary’s and Poland’s opposition to Brussels’ oversight over the rule of law was to be top of the EU summit agenda yesterday, sidelining efforts to tackle the coronavirus epidemic.
EU member states had planned to share the lessons learned in the pandemic and discuss a strategy to prevent a third wave of infections.
This week Warsaw, Budapest and Slovenia blocked the adoption of the €1.8 trillion (about R33.1 trillion) recovery plan. –
