End 2020 with a smile at a high-energy stand-up comedy show at Montecasino.

Taking place at Pieter Toerien Theatre at Montecasino from tomorrow, Alan Committie’s new stand-up comedy show, The Lying King: Circle of Laugh is sure to be an event for the books.

Tackling the events of the past year through Committie’s broad sense of humour, this show will talk about intermittent fasting, Heidi and Kiara and other ‘80s TV deceits, and outline the comically bizarre possibilities for the next year through eye-popping confusion of modern-day living.

Committee is renowned for his witty and high-energy material, combined with physicality and clean content, which makes for an ideal year-end break.

“We live in a world that thrives on mistruths, fake news, white lies and ‘mild inconsistencies’ … and that’s just on your first date! Wait ‘till you really get to know each other,” says Committie.

Despite his larger-than-life comedic views, Committie is a man on a mission when it comes to his stand-up shows.

Committie continues that we are all “lying kings” in our own way, and this show will unpack the hilarious collateral damage we all encounter.

To ensure the safety of guests and staff at the venue, all patron will be required to observe social distancing protocols.

The theatre will enforce a “no mask, no entry” policy upon entry.

Tickets are available at Computicket from R150. Show dates are tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday, as well as from next Wednesday, 2 December to 6 December.
